Jeff Garretson
was oft banished to the kitchen for "ruining" his mother's
suppers with his Dinner Theater antics. Rejected and misunderstood
by his own family, he sought audiences at barbershops, Otter Creek-Hyatt
School, and eventually on the stage of Engle Lane Theater. Performing
was put on hold for several years, as he committed social suicide
enrolling in the University of Illinois Engineering Program.
Four and a half dark years out of college, Jeff finally received the
lay-off he'd needed and sought redemption in The Second City. Eventually,
improv work led to film work in several low and even no-budget films.
He continues his stage work, studying with The Second City Conservatory
Program, Annoyance Productions and playing with his improv group:
"Improv This!"
He continues to grab film roles, most notably as "Lover on the
Bridge" in The Break Up, but most promisingly in the Drop Shadow
Productions short, Tree.
He is a firm believer that "That which does not kill us, makes
us stronger" and takes comfort in knowing that things can always
be worse. And he looks forward to fullfilling his kindergarten promise
requested by Mrs. Gallick: "When you get famous, send me a postcard."
